Frequently Asked Questions

We understandthis may be your first time arranging a funeral.

Here's some questions many clients have been too shy to ask.

Question 1: How much does it cost?

This is a common question, but it’s hard to answer without knowing the specifics. Starting price is $2995 up to as much as you’d like to spend. Average price in Australia is around $8,000.

Question 2: What's the difference between a funeral service and a memorial service?

Funerals are a service with the guest of honour present in a coffin or a casket.

Memorials don’t have the body present. There may be ashes or a photo’s of the guest of honour.

Question 3: Can I DIY a funeral?

Yes and No.

You’ll need a funeral organisation to arrange burial or cremation, but you can DIY the farewell service.

Question 4: Can I be cremated or buried in a cardboard box?

Absolutely! They are the most environmentally responsible coffin, plus they can be painted or decorated by the family

About us

Hey, I'm Anthony

I started Moreton Bay Funerals to offer locals a non-traditional alternative for their farewell service.

The fastest growing section of the funeral industry is Direct Cremation. This gives the family the option of a small gathering at home, or a larger gathering at the beach, park, pub or sporting club.

If it's legal, let's do it!

The farewell should reflect the guest-of-honours personality
